Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Imperial Beach Residents Directory. Accessing or reading the pages means you accept them. If these conditions are not acceptable, do not use the reference or its linked tools.

1. What This Reference Is

Imperial Beach Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Imperial Beach, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with Imperial Beach, San Diego County ARCC, a court, a library, or any state or federal custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and their linked resources only for lawful purposes. You may not use information found through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale
  • Disrupt the operation or security of the reference

3. No Consumer Reports

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 1681 et seq. Neither the pages nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing returned through them may be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose governed by the FCRA.

4. External Links and Tools

Government portals, libraries, archives, courts, and sponsored search tools set their own terms, fees, privacy practices, and availability. Imperial Beach Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content or results.

5. No Warranty

The reference is supplied on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties. No promise is made that a description is complete, current, or correct, or that an outside portal will remain online or return an accurate record.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or any linked resource, including a decision made from a record located through them.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorney fees arising from your misuse of the reference or your violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Permission

The original writing, logo, layout, and design are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is allowed. Full-page republication or systematic copying is not.

9. Revisions

Terms may change when the reference, its tools, or the law changes. The current version is the one posted here, and continued use after an update indicates acceptance.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, attacks the service, or abuses a linked tool. Such a restriction may occur without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The California Legislative Information portal publishes the California Public Records Act, codified at Government Code Sections 7920.000-7931.000. That statute governs public custodians, not this private reference. California consumer privacy questions may also implicate the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act and the Delete Act.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
